Professor Charles Xavier is the headmaster, mentor, and leader of the X-Men. He is a playable character within the two X-Men Legends titles under various circumstances and/or conditions. In the first game, he can only be played as part of the first Astral Plane mission and although limited in skillset, he is perhaps the most strongest of the team members (albeit a temporary playable character). Xavier is captured during this mission and later freed during the third and final mission on the Astral Plane. As the Astral Gladiator, a playable Charles Xavier battles the Shadow King in a psychic battle., where the former eventually triumphs. In X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse, he is playable with new powers and can be unlocked via completing all the Danger Room challenges or by use of a cheat code. He has no special dialogue with anyone and is treated as a "Hero/X-Man" for conversation purposes.

In both games, Professor Xavier is voiced by Sir Patrick Stewart, who portrays a live action adaptation of Professor Xavier in numerous X-Men movies and certain Marvel related media.
